Regardless of the political ins and outs of the situation, no one can deny that it’s a truly desperate situation for thousands of children and their parents, a state of fear and displacement for unfortunate little ones who have no say in the bigger world around them.
Amongst all this a wonderful project has emerged – Jungle Books is a pop-up library set up by volunteers in the Calais ‘Jungle’ refugee camp.
They provide children (and adults) with stories, educational materials and school lessons.
To help this great initiative, Hoglets are donating a package of children’s books to Jungle Books, and would like to invite anyone who has any spare children’s books to join us.
If you’ve anything you’d like us to send over, then please bring them in to a Hoglets class. It’s a small thing, but it could make a difference to a little boy or girl in a bad situation.
